Brenda Johnson

Brenda Johnson, 69, of Creal Springs was called home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Feb. 07, 2024. Brenda was born in Gibson City, IL on Dec. 03, 1954 to the late Russell and Norma Holmes.

Brenda was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a loving daughter and a very special sister. Brenda loved to bake and shared her gift with many.  She also loved crocheting, sewing and crafting and shared this gift as well. As a woman with a strong Christian faith she encouraged,  comforted and inspired us all.  She was always willing to help wherever there was a need with a generous heart.

Brenda is survived by her 3 sons, Matt Duppong (Lori), James Duppong and Mitchell Johnson (Jessica), 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.   She is also survived by her brother Darrell Holmes (Soni) , sister Cheryl Taylor  (Mike), one aunt Dorothy Camden and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  Brenda had many dear friends including Dan Kazen and long time dear friends caregiver Mike Clark and Pastor Michelle Parker Clark. Brenda was preceded in death by 1 brother, Mark Holmes. Brenda will be greatly missed. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Cosby-Sloan funeral home in Creal Springs. Visitation will be from !:00 P.M. until funeral hour. Cosby-Sloan funeral home in charge of arrangements.
