Catherine Ann Winters

Catherine Ann Winters, 74 of Galatia, IL passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Eldorado Rehab and Healthcare. Catherine was born on July 9, 1949, in Gary, Indiana.

Catherine married John Winters on August 5, 1972.  John went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2022.  Catherine missed John very much after his passing.  John and Cathy spent the early years of their marriage traveling with their race horses and managing their businesses before settling back down in Southern Illinois.  Through the years, Catherine enjoyed assisting John in his pastoral duties and established many valuable friendships in the churches he pastored.  Catherine retired from Kroger in Harrisburg where she had worked as a cashier for many years.  Catherine loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren, family, friends and her faithful dog Blaze.

Catherine is survived by her three children; John Winters, Kimberlie Winters, Angela (Blaine) Shires; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great great grandchild as well as many other family members that she cared deeply for.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Winters and a granddaughter, Desirea.

Graveside services will be held Friday, October 27, 2023, at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Harrisburg at 11:00 am with Scott Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mount Moriah Cemetery. Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia will be in charge of arrangements.
