Ida Louise (Bird) Braden 96 of Holden Louisiana formally of Galatia and Johnston City Illinois passed away Wednesday March 25, 2026 at 4:06 A.M. in Holden Louisiana. She was born on June 3, 1929 in Cornith Illinois to the late Rodney Owen & Ethyl (Guye) Bird. Louise married Burnett Branden on December 24, 1947 in Mayfield Kentucky and he preceded her on September 13, 1993.
Louise started sitting for people when she was 77 she had two people in Johnston City the oldest she sat with till she passed & she was a Wilson part of the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City. In 2000 she took care of David's son Michael for about 2 years in Johnston City then she moved to Louisiana when she was 79 to take care of him till he passed in 2021 with help from David.
Louise is survived by her son and daugher-in-law David & Carolyn Beaden of Holden Louisiana and a brother Harold Bird of Rantoul Illinois, David's step children Carter Kinchen Jr. & Connie Lynn Kinchen, grandchildren Chess Kinchen & Ty Kinchen, great grandchildren Cyler Kinchen and Terrah Kinchen. She was preceded by her parents, husband, grandson Michael Braden, Brothers James, Bill, Wayne, Leroy Bird, sisters Alice Reed & Helen Evans
Funeral service will be Thursday April 2, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with visitation from 9:00 A,M. till funeral hour. The Rev. Ivan Ryan will officiate with burial in the Brushy Cemetery Harco.
