Sally (Mocaby) (Williams) Jones of Galatia,formerly of Poordo, Illinois, 84, passed peacefully at her home on July 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on September 22, 1940, Sally was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to express her love, often getting down on the floor to play with them and create lasting memories.
An avid gardener, Sally found joy in tending to her flowers and welcoming the countless hummingbirds that visited her each summer. Her love for nature reflected her vibrant spirit and nurturing heart.
Sally is survived by her sons, Maverick & Belinda Marvel of Galatia, Preston & Tammy Williams of Thompsonville, and Douglas Williams of Galatia. She is also survived by her twin sister, Allie Miller of West Frankfort, along with ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
She was an active member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, where she loved and respected the parishioners and contributed to the community she cherished.
The family will have a celebration of life for Sally at a later date at Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Galatia, inviting anyone who knew Sally to come and celebrate her life.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Tererlius & Allie (Rice) Mocaby; her first husband, Shelby Gene Marvel; her siblings: Paul Mocaby Sr., Donald Mocaby, Alfred Mocaby, Bob Mocaby, Carl Mocaby, Bill Mocaby, Jimmy Mocaby, Terelius Mocaby Jr., Emma Lou Hill, Neva Walker, Alene Edwards, Mary Orr, Betty Cash; and a beloved grandson, Brandon Marvel.
Sally's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
